We understand that circumstances may arise leading to cancellations. In this guide, we'll explore the ins and outs of cancellations, including the types of cancellation policies available for your listing and the process of cancelling a booking.
Cancellation policies
Understanding and choosing the right cancellation policy is a crucial aspect of Hosting. We offer three main policy types, each catering to different hosting styles and preferences.
Flexible (Recommended)
This policy encourages bookings due to its guest-friendly nature, providing flexibility for both Hosts and Guests.
Guests can cancel until 24 hours before check-in for a full refund and you won’t be paid
If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid for each night they stay, plus 1 additional night
Moderate
This policy strikes a balance between flexibility and commitment.
Guests can cancel until 5 days before check-in for a full refund and you won’t be paid
If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid for each night they stay, plus 1 additional night, plus 50% for all unspent nights
Strict
While less flexible, this policy provides hosts with a higher level of commitment from Guests.
To receive a full refund, guests must cancel within 48 hours of booking, and the cancellation must occur at least 14 days before check-in
If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, you’ll be paid 50% for all nights
If they cancel after that, you’ll be paid 100% for all nights
Cancelling a booking
When a booking is cancelled, the dates originally reserved become unblocked on your host calendar. This presents an opportunity to attract new bookings for those dates. Keep your calendar updated to reflect real-time availability, enhancing the chances of securing new reservations.
